Default Abbreviation help please

A distant family member Betty Lawrence Crisp was married to Rev Leonard James Birch who was vicar of Beoley and was also padre to 92 LAA Regt, R.A. (known as Jim Birch)

In The Times in the birth announcement of their daughter in 1944 he is Leonard Birch C.F (B.W.E.F) any thoughts on what the initials stand for would be welcome as I've googled and I'm pretty sure it's not the Boll Weevil Eradication Foundation!

Thanks OC, just found British Western European Force as a mailing reference during the war, still stumped as to the CF though

Er, looks like it is Canadian Forces which would explain why I've never been able to find a birth reference for him

Last edited by Jill; 06-02-10 at 20:19. Reason: Canadian?
