IR 135/9/64 is themap reference for the Valuation Act map which was conducted round about the same time as the 1911 census. The associated field books describe the housing: telling you how old it was, how many rooms etc

On the Old Maps website, I looked at 1897 and 1919 maps and 1 Howarth St appears on both those in exactly the same place and the building exactly the same shape in both instances as on Google street view!

Thanks everyone - I will take it that it is the original building.
I think they were probably homes for shipyard workers rather than miners - as grandfather was a riveter at a shipyard and I don’t think there was a mine that close
