Default Norfolk parish register images - FamilySearch

Thanks to Nell for mentioning this on General! It wasn't there when I checked the site earlier!

Archdeacon's Transcripts 1600-1812
Marriage Bonds 1557 - 1915
Monumental Inscriptions 1600s - 1900's
Non-conformist records 1613 - 1901
Register of Electors 1844 - 1952

I might be staying up late tonight, lol.

(By the way, I like that 1600s - 1900's how they come down on both sides of the apostrophe question!)

Then use the "browse" facility to get to the Norfolk stuff, and away you go!

Thumbs up

Oh my, you do mean lots, don't you

Word of warning re the ATs. They are generally very good post 1700, but every 6th or 7th year the records were collected by the Bishops, not the Archdeacons. Also, they seem to run to about Easter, so you need to take care with the dates. As originally ordered, it was obvious which year was which, but when they got resorted by parish it is sometimes difficult to tell what year you are looking at.

I looked to see if my Farrow Salter marriage was in there but it seems the pages for that year were damaged.

Default Much rejoicing!

At last, I've found my gt x 3 grandparents' marriage! I knew the banns had been called so the marriage was likely to have occurred Apr 1794, but the marriage register for Limpenhoe was badly damaged and their wedding record not there.

But now I've found in the Archbishop's Transcripts this:

"Marriages.
John Dunt of the parish of Cantley, single man, & Cheziah [sic, her name was Kezia] Seals sp. of the parish of Limpenhoe, were married in this church by banns this twentyfirst day of April, in the year 1794"

It doesn't tell me anything I didn't know - except the date - and the witnesses, disappointingly, aren't family. But I am chuffed!
