Name - "official" name and what they were known as: Elizabeth Buck
Date and place of birth: 1842c in Sevenoaks, Kent. Names of parents: William Buck & Mary?? Date and place of baptism - unknown Details of each of his or her marriages: 17th May 1862, Leeds Parish Church, to John Ellis Squire. Certificate said that she was 20 years old, spinster, and her father was William Buck, plumber. Occupation(s): None Addresses where they lived (including county if in UK) - and please list which censuses you have or haven't found him/her on (if s/he lived in census times!). 1851: Bridge Street, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. Elizabeth was aged 8 and a vagrant. There was a letter N in the married/single column. Also here were a Mary A Buck aged 44 and a Jane Buck aged 17 who are probably Elizabeth's mother and sister. They also had N in the same column. 1861: not yet found 1871: Cobby's Yard, Sorby Street, Brightside, Sheffield. Aged 28, with John. 1881: 54 Granville Lane, Sheffield. Aged 38, with John. Date, place and cause of death: 1882. Dont have certificate but burial record states that she died at 54 Granville Lane. Date and place of burial: 11th November 1882 aged 40 at City Road Cemetery, Sheffield. Buried with husband and one of her children. Details of will / administration of their estate: None Memorial inscription: Not known.

That "N" on the 1851 census is actually a badly-written "U" for unmarried, but Mary A has a "W" for widow.

ahh...thanks for the clarification Kite....had thought an N was unusual and wondered if it should have been U & W.
