Default How can I find further information

I've come across a Bastardy Bond in Bradford probably relating to my tree but wonder how I can find out more information.

It is filed in 1907 against a John Hry Ingleson - 2 counts but doesn't say who he is supposed to be the father of. https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageview...0081?pId=14547

He was married but separated before 1891 and could be the father of 7 children with the married woman he was living with.

The husband has gone missing a couple of years after marriage and their first two children had died shortly after birth which could explain why they separated but have been unable to find out what happened to the husband.

The next 4 children have the husband as their father but the 5th born in 1901 has no father on birth certificate nor the twins born in 1904 who died shortly after.

In the 1901 census John says he's the father of two of the older children.

So does the Bastardy Bonds just refer to the twins or the 1901 birth too or are there others? He was still living with the married woman in 1911 census.

If the date is 1907 then I don't think it would refer to the twins if they died in 1904. Also I don't think it would refer to children who he was already supporting anyway. You could contact West Yorkshire Archives to ask whether they would have any more information.

Thanks Kite.

The twins are registered with the GRO with no father but the baptisms have the husband as the father.

So its only the 1901 birth that I can't find baptism for that doesn't mention the husband as the father.

All the bastardy bonds I have (and I have a few!) name the mother, if not the child. I take it you have not seen the actual document, just a description?

Looks like its just an index book listing the names of those who had an order against them.

As Kite says I'll contact the Archives when they open again and ask them what they have.
