Gimingham doesn't seem to be included in the Norfolk parish registers on FamilySearch Record Search, annoyingly.

Not on the NBI either. Any idea when his father died?

It's listed on FreeReg but seems to be taking an age to do a search. Of course being listed doesn't mean any of the records have been transcribed.

There were three baptisms and one marriage on FreeReg, nothing to help.

The Gimingham baptisms on FreeREG only go up to 1812 at the moment, Marg. You click on the "Counties and Parishes" link on the FreeREG front page to get to a list of what's been transcribed so far.

I'm checking Sidestrand now.

Thank you both for looking.

No idea, Margaret, sorry. The only evidence I have for parentage is the marriage cert, which gives John Hubbard husbandman.

Should add that I scoured the bp reg for both Gimingham & Sidestrand at the NRO many years ago, with no success.
Also looked at bur & marr regs for Gimingham, but nothing to help with any Edward or John Hubbard.

Oh didn't realise that. Sidestrand only goes to 1812 as well.
