Cornwall Parish records - Family Search

Some of you may remember I asked Family Search about the sudden withdrawal of the Cornwall Parish records a few weeks ago. They told me then that they had been "temporarily" removed. I asked them again this week, and this was the reply:


"We have no further news on eventual return as both parties to the contractual agreement to publish agreed to refer to a third party. The suspension involves a member of the public raising an issue about online publication of certain records.
We are working during the suspension to improve some aspects of the presentation of the images.
Until there is an agreement about online publication we regret that we have no further information about future return.
All of our collections are published through contractual agreements which can be varied or as in this case agreed mutually to suspend images pending resolution of representations by members of the public. "

That's interesting, Elizabeth. I wonder if it will affect other databases if the decision goes against FamilySearch?

I wonder why someone objected? Seems to be a bit of a spoilsport to me.
