Anyone read Latin?
I have found the following baptism on FMP
https://search.findmypast.co.uk/reco...BIRM%2F0267875 Right side, the last one STANBRIDGE It reads like Martin but the transcription says Agnes. (it should be Agnes as I have the birth cert) The date of birth in the transcription is wrong too as it should be 31st Jan 1878 not 31 Dec 1877 Can anyone read it? This is the transcription First name(s) Agnes Last name Standbridge Birth year 1877 Birth date 31 Dec 1877 Baptism year 1878 Baptism date 01 Mar 1878 Church Holy Trinity Parish Radford Deanery Banbury Diocese Birmingham Father's first name(s) - Father's last name Standbridge Mother's first name(s) Elisibetha Country England County Oxfordshire Archive Birmingham Archdiocesan Archives Archive reference P233/1/3 Document type Baptisms, Confirmations, Marriages & Deaths Records year range 1865-1886 Record set England Roman Catholic Parish Baptisms Category Birth, Marriage, Death & Parish Records Subcategory Parish Baptisms Collections from England, Great Britain

58 Standbridge 1878
Die 31 Januarii nata et 1 Martii baptizata fuit Agnes filia (??) et Elisabetha Standbridge A me Gulielmo OGrady Matrina fuit Maria Standbridge Agnes daughter of (??) and Elisabeth Standbridge was born 31st January and baptised 1st March. Maria Standbridge was godmother. William OGrady was the minister, I think. I think it makes you think of Martin because of the Martii for March. Last edited by ElizabethHerts; 14-05-20 at 14:31. |

Thanks Liza I was looking at it as I had a letter this morning from a distant cousin of OH’s. she got my address off another ‘cousin’. She mentioned this Martin and it really confused me as I couldn’t remember ever coming across him but as I hadn’t done anything on the Stanbridge line in years I thought I had better check it out.

Marg, it's a real jolt when you have to revisit lines you haven't looked at for years. I recently was sorting out the paper work for one of OH's families and I did the research back in 2008 and earlier.
