Some information about my 10x-grandfather Edward Wood, rector of Hamsey:

The baptism entries for his own children give extra info such as the day of the week and the exact time that they were born. Continuing the way that his father in law, Samuel Norden, had done it for his own children's baptisms. Ancestry seem to have ducked out of transcribing some of the handwritten parish register pages if there are typed transcripts available (or even if there aren't).

Don't know whether this is absolutely the case, but searching West Sussex bps simply by place, the results appear in a strict chronological order, rather than at random. This makes searching so much easier!
