National Archives Catalogue Week 21-25 November
https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/...eek-is-coming/
This used to be the height of my Family History year, when I learnt about all sorts of records becoming more accessible. Putting it online does offer remote users the chance to find out more. I note that one of the sources is something I'm fairly sure used to be indexed on card, and I used right at the start of my visits to the then PRO, before the cards seemed to disappear. Looking forwards to discovering whether that is the case!

I'm interested to see what they have to say about Cataloguing Selected Second World War Service Personnel Records. The service has been very poor

The Captains' letters blog was interesting. They are only up to A so far, and I am interested in Michael Seymour!
Forty years ago, a friend introduced me to these letters. They threw light on Adams Edwards' career. He briefly changed ships and was under a different captain: because Seymour had requested compassionate leave.
