Default Activities for an idle hour

As Merry said, we may have more time on our hands than anticipated.

I have been working my way through my DNA matches - discarding those of no obvious use. This has thrown up potential trees for obscure close matches and enabled me to jettison 24k of no hopers. You don't delete these people so can check the discards for potential common ancestors. I'm hoping that the smaller list will help me to make sense of my matches.

How will you use unexpected free time?

Right now I'm going to take my time to scrupulously clean all the disgusting keyboards in the house; oh, and the mice too.

I have a book that was new out in the last 6 months or so that I must finish reading because I think I need to send a copy to one family member in particular. It's The Vagina Bible by Jen Gunter, MD.

Then I have in mind to type up all my notes and make myself a synopsis of David Reich's Who We Are and How We Got Here. That should keep me busy for awhile.

I spent an hour thinking I might bake a cake but then decided not to break the habit of a lifetime!

Janet. Could I pass you this keyboard? The trouble with cleaning is that when one thing is cleaner everything else looks dirtier.

Well, don't try to spend an idle hour researching on Scotland's People just now - "Due to hardware failure, the ScotlandsPeople website is unavailable. We aim to be back as soon as possible."

Bring it on, Merry! I find keyboard cleaning very relaxing work. I've left a string of employers and supervisors behind me in life who quickly learned that under pressure Janet is likely to be found meticulously cleaning her keyboard before starting that rush job. I can type faster that way.
