There are two possible baptisms for Sarah. I don't know which one is correct - whether her mother was Margaret or Ann.

I had a go at figuring it out from those yesterday, Elizabeth, but I didn't get anywhere. If you can get a look at the actual parish register entries there is a chance it might give the father's occupation.

Thanks for looking, Kiterunner.
Charles Lamb, Sarah's husband, was a gunsmith. He left Huntingdon and they married at Halesowen. I wondered if he either worked with or for Joseph Chambers. Charles must have served some type of apprenticeship. There is a famous gunsmiths that originated in Birmingham called Chambers, and it is still going. My daughter contacted them but they weren't very interested. http://www.gunspares.co.uk/shopcontent.asp?type=Aboutus Last edited by ElizabethHerts; 23-08-10 at 07:06. |

My hopes are dashed, Kate. No occupations given in the PRs on Ancestry, so I'm no further forward. I would so much like to get this line further back.
