Is he my 8x-great-grandfather?
Please see the information from the marriage allegation for Sarah Williams and James Barker: http://www.genealogistsforum.co.uk/f...t=James+Barker There is more about him here: https://archive.org/stream/sioncolle...rrich_djvu.txt and on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_W..._Chichester%29 |

He was Vicar of St Mildred, Poultry, London.
When Sarah Williams married James Barker the marriage allegation stated she was the daughter of [Doctor Williams] of St Mildred Poultry. |

Ooh, was James Barker an Archdeacon? There is this Roger Williams' will which looks useful:

I can't see a will for John Williams himself. He died in 1709.

No, I couldn't find one either, which is why I looked for Roger's instead.

Roger Williams' first wife Frances left a legacy to some of the Barker sons, it appears!
Off to look for the will again, but no success so far. |
