Default Help the image isn't the right one!

1891 census on Ancestry should be for Jennie Violet Locke (mistranscribed as Loche)

RG12; Piece: 4338; Folio 29; Page 4; GSU roll: 6099448.

I can't see her on that page or any of the family??? Am I slowly going mad?

Please don't all rush at once to say yes lol

You're not going mad

I think they're on page 2

If you change the search to page 2 you get no matches but if you go to the original page you found and change the image number on the top right hand side to 2 you'll get the right image. The transcriptions below the image are for a different page so its a mess really

Thanks Jackie I will look now. I don't suppose you can find Benjamin Preece there either? He seems to not be on the right page either

That helps as Mary Jane is listed with the surname Preece from 1891 so looks like her first husband died. Benjamin Preece seems to have been living in Newland too but the page is wrong again!

He is not with Mary Jane in 1901 or 1911 so maybe she bumped him off too lol

I think the whole of Newland has got the wrong images and that's 7 districts. It looks as though you would need to browse all of the images to find him. (Wonder if anyone can find him somewhere other than Ancestry)

Thanks Jackie & Maggie, I won't be trawling through the whole lot to find him, I only have a week left on my Ancestry sub so need to get more important stuff saved first lol

You didn't need to do that!

His entry should be on folio 7 page 7 and that's the sheet that is missing (from Ancestry). When you click the button for the image you get folio 8 page 9, so you need to go back two images, but that takes you to folio 6 page 6, because folio 7 page 7 is missing.

The sheet can't be completely missing as Ancestry have an image of the other side of it, so maybe it's available via FMP?
