Thomas Brewer - can anyone find his death?
Thomas Brewer born 28 June 1849 in Chisledon, Wiltshire. Moved to Branston, Staffordshire area pre 1881 and remained there. In 1911 him and his wife are still in Branston.
1913 he is the informant on his wife's death cert. Still in Branston. I have trawled the deaths and I can't find him. If he stayed in the area the death should come under Burton on Trent, but is possible it could be Lichfield or Uttoxeter.

Was Charles his relation? Chas and Eliz were in Notts, so....
Name: Thomas Brewer Death Registration Month/Year: 1927 Age at death (estimated): 79 Registration district: Nottingham Inferred County: Nottinghamshire Volume: 7b Page: 675 But that's just the first one I saw with the right age. If he moved from Staffs then he could have gone anywhere! lol

Just checked the 1911 to see if there was a Thomas Brewer of the right age living in Notts to illiminate him, but there isn't.
Thomas was OH's GG Grandad so think I'll send for that cert.

Well the death cert has arrived and I'm none the wiser. My instinct is that it isn't "my" Thomas Brewer.
Details from cert are: 21st Feb 1927 at 700 Hucknall Road. Thomas Brewer aged 79. Of no fixed abode and a Smallware Hawker. cause of death: Influenza and Broncho-Pneumonia. Informant G W Gould, occupier, 700 Hucknall rd, Nottingham

I've just tried to find that address in 1911 but I don't think it was built then. The numbers don't go anywhere near 700.

It looks as though that address was either the workhouse or hospital. The first paragraph on this page explains
http://users.ox.ac.uk/~peter/workhou...ddresses.shtml and this thread http://listsearches.rootsweb.com/th/...-12/0978100196

Thank you Jackie
That explains that one. I did wonder with him being "of no fixed abode" Still don't know if it's "him" though. His previous occupations were Ag lab and Brewers Lab. This one was a smallware hawker.

I would have thought he would still be some sort of labourer. Was there an occupation for him on his wife's death cert?
