Default Essex PR transcriptions - findmypast

As with the Ancestry and Family Search ones, you will need to use SEAX to view images. Sorry I can't post the links as I am on my phone but maybe someone else can?

Hmm, I searched the baptism index for John Horner and found I had already viewed the record previously. So I think they must have added the new records to an existing database.

Essex Baptism Index has over 2.5 million records, and FMP Fridays says over 2.3 million are new, so that makes sense. And Essex Marriages and Banns has over 1.6 million records, with FMP Fridays saying over 1.4 million are new, and again, I have previously viewed John Horner's marriage record in that database, so it looks as though they have added the new records to the existing database.

But the Essex Burial Index only has 881,994 records in it, and FMP Fridays says that there are over 1.5 million.

Hm, less than 20 minutes later using Merry's "Essex burial index 1530-1994" link I ran a search with no data entered in any search field and had 1,579,982 results returned.

That's interesting, Janet. It must be the A-Z of record sets which is wrong, then.
