Me: you have mutual ancestors with Best Mate in X and Y. Do you want to know more?
She: silence Today, she shows up with common ancestors. Great.... except that she has omitted a couple of generations that I hadn't told her about, so it appears that the mother is 80 when the child is born! Don't think I'll bother to correct her.
