Morf, may I ask when he changed his name? And why?!! A Taylor must be just as had to trace as a Jackson!

I've been told that the family changed their name when they left Cornwall for Wales in the late 1870s because they had been in business and had gone bankrupt.
Don't know how true this is because I haven't been able to find any evidence of it.
