Default William Jarvis, Harriet and baby John

Are all on the 1871 census, living in Keswick, Norfolk.

John William Benton Jarvis was b 1 June 1870 and baptised at Intwood with Keswick.

William Benton Jarvis married Harriet Skippon in 1868. He was born 1845, she c 1850.

By 1881 they are gone.

He was a farming bailiff.

I assume they emigrated, but where? William's brother Lee Jarvis also vanishes, so perhaps they went together, possibly c 1879.

No sign of any death for Lee, Harriet or John William Benton here in NZ.

Thank you for looking, Chris!

I've not seen them in US or Canada, though they might be hiding.

Found him.

jAN 8 1873, he died in Colorado, aged 27, leaving a widow and two children.

The death notice is in the Norwich Mercury: http://www.britishnewspaperarchive.c...30226/062/0003

His poor mother lost three adult children in the space of less than 20 months.

Nearly a 7-year itch! I was surprised to find my post was the last one from Phase 1. BTW my avatar photo was taken in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Just to lay my own worries to rest: I had had a notion that William did die very young, but could not work out how. I have just gone through some very old notes, and discovered that an unrelated William Jarvis died in Norfolk in 1872.
