Default Can someone work out a relationship please.

It's late here and I'm knackered and a rellie I've just found is getting excited about being found and wants to know relationships...lol

We share great grandparents. His grandfather and my grandmother were siblings.

Also what is my uncle (son of my grandmother) to him?

Thank you.

My guess is 2nd cousin.

My OH and I are 1st cousins because his mother and my father were siblings.

Thank you. I thought second cousins. I was looking at the chart the right way...lol

That makes D (the new rellie) and my uncle first cousins once removed.

This will do my head in........lol

Yeah, it's second cousins Libby. First cousins share grandparents, second cousins share great-grandparents, third cousins share great-great-grandparents, and so on.

Your uncle would be his mum/dad's first cousin-once-removed, I think.
