The 1841 census for Francis is a bit unclear as to whether it is an I or an S.
Online trees have all gone for I, but I am not 100% sure. |

I think it's an I, but that doesn't mean he wasn't born in Scotland! lol
What happened to Jane?

Not sure at the moment. That's my next thing to look into.
I have her in 1851, but then can't pinpoint her just yet. One died in 1858 in Sunderland, but the GRO site's index says she was 70, so a bit out. Ancestry says she was buried in Southwick in the Select Deaths and Burials index, but cannot see Francis in the same one. I could order the certificate which would confirm, but not sure I want to right at the moment (other priorities!). Last edited by Tom Tom; 19-05-19 at 16:45. |

I haven't managed to find any of them in Scottish records yet. Some ancestry trees have Jane's maiden name as Jorden, but I don't know where they have got that from. The nearest I could find was a Francis McInally / Janet Forsyth marriage 10 Oct 1830 Glasgow, though of course that is after the children were born.

Could it be something north N IE? IE stands for Ireland.
The first word looks like it ends in ttie.
