Samuel Baggerley died c 1829 - death duty records He and Elizabeth had three sons: Samuel - died as a baby Richard - died c 1837 - death duty records James - still alive in 1834 when his sister Mary Ann Hughes made her will

I've got Baguley and Bagguley in my tree. I haven't gone back that far with them as they are a twig, but they say it as "Baggerly"

Hello cousin!
It's one of those delightful names that can be spelled in dozens of ways. I haven't investigated its origins, but it seems spread across eastern and midland counties. I don't know if it has a single root or - like the Coopers and Llewellins - multiple ones.

I have Baggerley's in OHs tree - try Baggeley, Baggerly, Baggelly - all combinations with and without the r, the e , double l. It is a nightmare.
OHs were very distant and I gave up.
