Default Help reading census form, please!

1861 Census
BUTTERWORTH, Abel Lord
ROCHDALE, Lancashire
RG09 piece 3044 folio 85 page 10

Could someone tell me what they think is written as an afterthought before Abel's occupation?

Could be.

I thought at first it said "In servant" (as in "lived in"), but as his occ was associated with a hotel, but the address wasn't a hotel, that didn't make sense!

Could it be Inn Servant? Could the Posting Establishment mean it catered for postchaises?

Very strange! The job wasn't good enough to keep him in England as the family emigrated to New Hampshire a couple of years later.

Wll, he was more likely to come into contact with people who had travelled, working at a hotel. And to make an informed choice when he set off.
