I've submitted an unreadable image to Ancestry about it Kate. I don't know if they try to get a better scan or not. It would be helpful.

I've googled comber and it is part pf the weaving process so it could be my Richard is the Richard that has the children in Elland, probably to Lucy Simpson.

I'd like Richard and Lucy to be mine as my Richard's great granddaughter marries a Simpson from Bradford and Lucy is a common name from then on.

I had forgotten the Simpsons were from Yorkshire, as my branches on each family moved to Staffordshire. I'll have to see what the registers give me for the Simpsons.

Dad always said the family story was that someone was a pharmacist (he was a chemist) who came form Yorkshire and the family was from Scotland before that.
