In case anyone's interested, the 1939-45 records include officers from the British Empire air forces, not just the RAF (my father's included, and he was in the Australian Air Force).

Kate is right about the initals but even that is abbreviated.
OH has one ancestor SCF Jackson who is known as SCF everywhere. It took me a while to work out what his name actually was. This is what FMP say about him: First Name(s):S. Last Name:Jackson Rank:Lieutenant Colonel Service:1st and 2nd Battalions. Hampshire Regiment Section:WESTERN THEATRE OF OPERATIONS. Date Missing:13/09/1914 Interned:Switzerland 19/1/17 Repatriated:14/09/1917
