Mary from Italy - are you there?
Do you have the disks of the burial records for Welford Road?
Thanks

I'm having trouble with the others; can you tell me their years of birth, and when you think they might have died?

Thanks. That's brilliant. Lily died only very shortly after retirement.
The others are Abraham Phillips born c1861, died 1933. You may not find his Charlotte. She died at her daughter's in Shackerstone in 1938. His parents were also Abraham and Charlotte, born c1822 and 1827 respectively.

Never mind, I've found them in the 1911 census.
I can't see them in Leicester in the 1939 register, so they'd presumably either died or moved by then. This is probably Abraham's death, but I haven't found a matching burial: Deaths Jun 1933 Phillips Abraham / 72 / Blaby / 7a 52 Not sure which cemetery would cover the Blaby area. I've checked Welford Road, Saffron Hill and Gilroes, but they're not there. I've found burials for their sons Frank (d. 1915) and George (d. 1931) (both of Bartholomew St.) at Welford Road, but their parents aren't buried with them. I can't find an obvious death for Charlotte, unless it's this one: Deaths Dec 1938 Phillips Charlotte M / 75 / Mt. Bosworth / 7a 105 |

An Ada Elizabeth Phillips married Thomas U King in Market Bosworth in 1936.
There's an Ada Elizabeth King born 1/11/1909 on the 1939 Register, shown as married, with one closed record at her address (Allotment Lane, Shackerstone). That matches this birth: Births Dec 1909 Phillips Ada Elizabeth Leicester 7a 232 So I think that death in Mkt Bosworth will be Charlotte's. |

Blaby cemetery burials are online, but Abraham isn't there either:
http://www.leicestershirevillages.co...ryburials.html The Blaby RD covers a very wide area, though. I wonder if he was in the Blaby Union Workhouse? It was in Enderby, and apparently became the Enderby House County Home after 1930, providing accommodation for the elderly and chronic sick. http://www.workhouses.org.uk/Blaby/ Enderby burials only seem to be online up to 1911. |
