His brother Bert gave a cup to the school in his memory in 1928. It was for shooting, which the boys had started doing competitively in 1913 when my husband's grandfather won the first competition.
In the 1980s it was mounted on a base and presented as the boys' cross country cup instead, but is now about to be "retired" to the archive cupboard.
