Default Xmas present for my friends daughter ??

My friend wants help .
His G Grandfather was
Patrick Sheridan born 1859 in Mullingar , Ireland - he has a photograph of him .
Patrick was a Fireman on the Lucitania and died when it sank in 1915 - all this is on record which he found out only recently ...by coincidence my friends daughter in Liverpool met a man from Athlone - moved there - and has 2 children over there 26 miles from where her GG Grandfather was from . My friend would like to find out the parents of Patrick Sheridan and any siblings to send to his daughter - he believes that the Sheridan family owned a smallholding and may still live in that smallholding ...all this info has only come to light in the last couple of weeks ...I have been on familysearch and the only 1859 birth in Mullingar is of a Mary Sheridan ...the photograph of Patrick says 1859-1915 ...so pretty certain of the dates ...if any one can help it would be very much appreciated ...thanks
Allan

THANKS - found his details on Lusitania...

The Irish marriage cert says Patrick's father was John Sheridan, labourer.

I think so. Note Charlotte signed Smith, not Smyth.

There's a tree on Ancestry that has the family in Little Bolton Lancs in 1871 (Patrick aged 13). The father is John, a shoemaker. I don't know how likely it is that Patrick would have returned to Ireland to marry, if this is really the right family. Also, wouldn't Patrick have said shoemaker for his father rather than labourer?

EDIT: Also, one of the 1871 children is named Ambrose and he seems to have been baptised in Dublin not Westmeath, so I think this is probably not the right family.

Thanks Merry - www.liverpoolhistoryprojects.co.uk Roman Catholic Baptisms only goes up to 1900 - so she had more children after that I presume
