He was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal in WW1 for single handedly fighting off some 30 germans. (I have these medals). He struggled in later years due to shrapnel wounds. He changed his name from Barnett to Law. Mum never knew exactly why but suspected could have been to enlist.. Thanks for the info on Arabella we didn't know much about her and can now follow up.. Welcome . The Mauch family are all from around Tannymorel. Hubby was born in Killarney and quite a few are buried there as well as Yangan.
