Thanks, KiteRunner.
She was boarded out in Guildford, just a few streets away from where my mother's family lived. |

What a pity one wasn't a boy, so there was the possibility of a dna test on a descendant. Guildford must have been oozing with men rich enough to support a mistress.

Could someone please do me a favour and see if Mary Elsie's baptism is on Ancestry?
She was born in April 1889 in Stockwell. I'm sure I recollect finding a baptism, but I don't seem to have recorded it. |

I can't see her baptism on there but there is a marriage on 2.10.1909 to Percy Gerald Newton who was an architect. Her father's details are blank. Daisy and Sarah Ann Blackshaw were the witnesses. Let me know if you want the image or any more details.

Thanks, Jackie and KiteRunner.
I wish I knew where I had seen it - I'll ask my daughter, she'll remember! |
