Just looking quickly
The name Eatough interests me. There used to be an Eatough's shoe and slipper manufacturers in Burton. Disappeared in the 60's if I remember correctly.

Just thought - would you like the thread title changed, Marg, and if so, which spelling of the surname?

I'll let you know tomorrow Kate. Been a long day and I didn't sleep well last night. Got to get my head round it yet.

Kate
Just to let you know I'm not ignoring this. Elder daughter has an op on a prolapsed disc on Saturday so we are all running around like headless chickens. I will get round to it.

I'm having a good look through this now. Emma isn't having her op after all. The surgeon said she had improved so much since he last saw her he advised to wait and see if she improves even further. She has to see him again in 4 weeks.
She is over the moon. So, now I can concentrate on this. Kate, can you change her surname to EATO please? It's the one she was baptised with.

Just found this in 1841 in Caunton. It's probably Richard jnr
another variation: Hereto http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin...fee6c8c3f16468

Richard senior's burial is on the NBI
2 May 1842 aged 92. So he should have been 90 on the 1841 census not 80. I've found Christiana's baptism on the IGI. She was bap 27 Dec 1787. She was 37 years younger than him then.

I see there are 4 public trees on Ancestry that have Richard born 1777 married to Christiana. They seem to have ignored the fact that Richard in 1851 is married to Mary and living in Caunton. Christiana is a widow and living in North Muskham with son Job and his family in 1851.
I shan't even try to correct them, no-one ever wants to know when you point out a mistake.
