Default Forbidden marriages

In 1868 would it be legal to marry your step daughter?

When Glen and I visited a church in Bucks there were wooden boards on the wall with laws relating who you could marry in the C of E - according to my photo you could not marry your wife's daughter .. not sure when this was abolished and how strictly it was adhered to.

In some circumstances it is still illegal; UK details on this website (scroll down to the "Step-Relatives" section):

http://www.weddingguideuk.com/prohibited-marriages/

I tried to find a more official website to confirm the info but not succeeded yet. I believe that in many countries it is still illegal in all circumstances.

A bit more digging and it turns out the person he married was not his wife's biological daughter, although his wife does appear to have raised the girl, so still wrong to me.

I'm not sure what happened but he married someone else in the next quarter of the same year. He conveniently died, left a will and a newspaper article to prove I had the same person.
