http://www.irishgenealogynews.com/20...-of-birth.html "UPDATE: 9 September, 12:30pm: The site has been offline for over an hour. So, too, the National Archives of Ireland's Genealogy website (or, at least, its databases). Not sure what the problem is, but I'll advise when they're up and running again."

Thanks Joy.

I'm getting nowhere with finding any of the people I need even when the site is working.

Is anyone else having to randomly sign in again? Sometimes over and over again mid-searches?

I have births, marriages and death certificates for my Great Grandmother and her parents and sibling, but only one shows up when I search, even though I know they are there.

Think I'll wait for a bit and see if any more records are added.

Try variations of a surname. I thought it would just put up variations but it doesn't seem to do that.
There have been mistranscriptions for McAlarney, understandably, and in one record the name is written as Malarney, dropping the c, although it had been transcribed as McAlarley.

I've found 2 I really need but there are no images so I can't be sure they are mine so I will have to wait for updates.

I think it is awesome though that they are putting all this information online for free. I don't have many Irish relatives but with what is happening now I wouldn't mind if I had more.

According to Chris Paton's blog, this is the date range for the images which have been digitised so far, and we have to wait for earlier marriages and deaths to be done:

Births: 1864 to 1915
Marriages: 1882 to 1940
Deaths: 1891 to 1965

Yes. When I sent a query in feedback, I received:

"The years covered by the release of the historic records of Births, Marriages and Deaths are:

Births: 1864 to 1915

Marriages: 1882* to 1940

Deaths: 1891* to 1965

The General Register Office are currently working on updating further records of Marriages dating back to 1845 and Deaths dating back to 1864. These will be included in future updates to the records available on the website."
