Name to Decipher on Marriage
Can anyone make out Elizabeth's surname on this marriage. I know what was transcribed and it seems to have been accepted by many but I have never been convinced.
Top right hand page James Sayer and Elizabeth ? https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageview...877?pId=506633 and some more paperwork, bottom right. https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageview...857?pId=506534 Thank you. Edit: remembered to link .co.uk Last edited by maggie_4_7; 14-03-22 at 17:03. |

My guess would be Jex, a not uncommon Norfolk name.

And if there is such a surname as Sex, I think that could be it. There is a John Sex buried in Norwich in 1748, according to FreeREG.

Thanks both I did think that was an x I could only come up with Fox. Never considered either of those names.
