London Wall is a road running from Wormwood St to Aldersgate Street.

i.e. from Bishopsgate through to Clerkenwell it starts of as Wormwood Street. So it could be Clerkenwell, City of London, or Finsbury district.

That's right, Maggie, which is why I think it was in Bishopsgate district in 1837. I wonder what happened to the Apr-Jun London birth registrations, though; there seems to be a big hole!

What was her christening date, Val? I think you just said 1838, but do you have an exact date?

Well that's why I said it could be Finsbury.

That sounds like you are saying Apr-Jun 1837? But as I know you know registrations didn't start until July I guess you mean 1838?

*goes for a lie down*

Sorry, Merry, I meant that I think London Wall was in Bishopsgate district 1837-1838 and then moved to East London. But there don't seem to be any birth regs for either of those districts in Apr-Jun 1838 on FreeBMD (well, 4 for East London, then). So I'm wondering if hers was one of the missing birth registrations.

Finsbury wasn't a district in 1930, so it can't have been that.

Ah, I see she was baptised well before April so hopefully she wasn't one of those missing registrations after all!
