Default Emma Ward formerly Sloman nee Pogson

Name: Emma Ann Ward, formerly Sloman, nee Pogson (Pugson) (Cert calls her Emily)
Date and place of birth: 1 December 1849, Side of the Moor, Oldham, County of Lancaster (Certificate)
Names of parents: Daniel and Betty Pogson nee Woodhead
Date and place of baptism : None - the family say they are Baptist when they immigrated to Australia
Marriages:
1. Charles Sloman on 12 Feb 1873 at Holy Trinity Church, Glen Innes.
2. Samuel Ward on 14 Nov 1886 at Christ Church, Dundee
Military service: Nil
Addresses where they lived: 1849 Side of the Moor, Oldham, Lancashire; Beaston in Yorkshire when brother William was born 1856; Pogson family migrated on the "Emma" in 1857; working for Ogilvies at "Yulgibar" in 1860 when Samuel youngest brother was born; then Wellingrove/Dundee and then “Brunswick”, Dundee, NSW owned by husband Charles Sloman which then becomes Ward family property after marriage to Sam Ward
Date, place and cause of death: 3 Feb 1893 aged 44 “Brunswick” Dundee NSW - from flooding after childbirth (death certificate)
Date and place of burial: Feb 1893 Dundee NSW with son George Sloman.
Details of will / administration of their estate: Unknown

Children:
Sloman – Born Dundee, NSW: Mary Jane 1875-1885, George Edward 1877-1889, Alice Maud 1878 William John 1879, Isabella Frances 1880, Charles Frederick 1882-1911 (he was an invalid), Samuel Henry Oliver 1884, (who was born 2 months after his father died.)
Ward – Born Dundee, NSW: May, Olive, Emily and Harry. Emma died when Harry was only 3 days old. Alice (married 7 years after her mother died) and Belle (married 18 years after her mother died) took responsibility for raising the younger members of the family.
