Edward Armstrong sea fisherman.

Place of birth

What do you think it says?

I know what my sister believes it says but I'd appreciate another's view.

Peru?

From his first marriage cert his father is Anton Carrin Armstrong, a mariner, if that helps at all.

Edward's sig on the marriage entry looks more like middle name Carrion than Carrin and that's what's on his death record:

ARMSTRONG, EDWARD CARRION
50
GRO Reference: 1922 D Quarter in PRESTON Volume 08E Page 606

I knew it was supposed to be Peru but wanted a second opinion. The story is he arrived here as a stowaway but I reckon he probably jumped ship when he got here.

Thanks for the naturalisation record Merry. I hadn't got that far.

Late to the party, but if you Google him, this comes up on Genealogy.com

I am looking for any reference to this surname in Peru. An ancestor Edward Carrin Armstrong arrived in England in the 1890s from Peru and was naturalised there in 1920. Any information on the name in Peru would be helpful. Edward's father was a fisherman in Peru

That must be the person my sister used to be in contact with in Australia. She said she was called Anne,
Doing a tree for my 8 year old great nephew. Apparently he was told his maternal grandfather had just done a DNA test and his eyes lit up. He’s really interested in his family history. The Armstrong’s are his paternal line.
Going to keep it to direct line so it doesn’t get too unwieldy for his age.
