Default The problem

Rather than keep asking for CDs of different counties thought I would explain the problem.
John and Elizabeth Fleetwood had first child in 1779 John was then age 37 and Elizabeth was 26 so one or both could have married before. One marriage did jump out at Shoreditch St. Leonard but has now been eliminated. If anyone has any Marriage index CDs of any county and the time could they please check for the marriage of John Fleetwood with Elizabeth/Elisabeth. xxhugxx

I suppose they might have had further children before the 'first' one, so the marriage might be earlier than you are expecting? Where was the 'first' child born?

Maybe you've already eliminated this family?:

Children of a John and Elizabeth Fleetwood:

THOMAS FLEETWOOD - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Christening: 25 OCT 1772 Ledbury, Hereford, England

SARAH FLEETWOOD - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 13 APR 1774 Ledbury, Hereford, England

ELIZABETH FLEETWOOD - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 01 APR 1777 Ledbury, Hereford, England

MARY FLEETWOOD - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 15 JUL 1778 Ledbury, Hereford, England

There are no more baps for this couple in Ledbury though the PRs continue on the IGI.

Likely marriage for the above:

JOHN FLEETWOOD
Male
Event(s):
Marriages:
Spouse: ELIZABETH WHEELER
Marriage: 02 DEC 1771 Ledbury, Hereford, England
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Messages: Extracted marriage record for locality listed in the record.

Elizabeth would only be 18 if this is your couple (where did you get her age from?), so possibly the PR would help to eliminate this couple if they were both of age?

Ah, so do you have her place of birth from the '51 census?

So, if she was born in Worth in Sussex she is unlikely to have ended up in Herefordshire to be married! People did move long distances, but generally towards the capital (in my experience, anyway!!)

Have you tried marriages in Worth, as often woman married in their home parish?
