My Great Grandmother Dorothy Elizabeth Downes (1910-1982) with her Mother, Esther Bradbury (1867-1940).
Apparently, G Gran was a bit of a surprise for GG Gran!

My grandmother Gertrude Louise Marsh (nee Harding) 1886-1951 with Leslie Charles 1906-1976, Lilian Helen 1908-1965, Lawrence Frank George 1911-1983, Jeannie Alice 1916-2003.

Photo taken in 1918, my father Alfred Benjamin was born the following year.

From my family postcard collection, dated 16 March 1912 (postmark & stamp on the front) though neither are related and I don't know how my great uncle & aunt came to have it in their album.

Seated: Alfred Steel (, Harriet Steel nee Smith his 2nd wife mother of James William Jacob Steel (Jim) and Charley Steel (on her lap). Taken c1912, Adela Rose Steel is the only child of Alfred's not present.

Dear Annie & L, Just a line to wish you both a Happy Easter. I hope you are both keeping well as I am glad to say we are both in the best of health we are having some snow and it is very cold Your loving sister & Bro Mabel & Ernest.

From Mabel & Ernest Straughan to Mabel's sister Annie Crisp nee Bennett. Mabel died in 1918 and Annie helped bring up Mabel's son.

Postcard of the ruins of Louvain Catherdral, Belgium dated 11 Apr 1915,Postmark West Norwood 13 Apr 1915 to WJ Crisp Esq, West Wittering, nr Chichester from one of the Naylor family of 43 Romola Road, West Norwood.

"43 Romola Road 11.4.15 Now Easter is over I meant to acknowledge your very kind card before, I'm sorry, but must have overlooked it in my hurry. We went to Ramsgate and enjoyed it very well tho' the weather was poor. We hope to come your way someday & have kept your explanatory letters. I trust Mrs Robinson is progressing I was very sorry to hear of her accident. With thanks and kind regards Y [?]Naylor"

WJ Crisp was Wiliam James Crisp, my great grandfather.
