My cousin told me all about Robina, who married and went to the USA (not sure in which order!).

I have received notification and an image showing that the father of Isabella Richardson (the younger) was JAMES SIM.

However, there are no further details about him so I'm not sure whether I'll be able to trace him.

Compeared Isabella Richardson who confessed she had brought forth a child in fornication and named James Sim as the father thereof. She was suitably addressed and summoned to appear on the first Sunday of next month."


"Grange, 1st July, 1866. Session met &c.
Compeared Isabella Richardson who produced a letter from James Sim in which he acknowledged himself the father of her child. She professed penitence and was absolved."
