Thank you for looking, Libby. The Worth baptism could well represent one of the Brighton families, but who knows? I've been mulling all this over for forty years, but never seem any closer to a solution.

That is from Ancestry. I am trying to get into Family Search, to see what they have, but it keeps on spitting out random results or no image for the searches I've made.

Aargh. The image was upside down, so I missed it first time round, but Henry's father IS a baker, which strengthens the theory that Edward was indeed from Cowfold.
