Eleanor Poling
Born 5 July 1790, daughter of Thomas Poling & Hannah Harden, in Petersfield
Baptised 14 October 1792 Petersfield Illegitimate son Thomas bp 20 August 1815. Father shown as Thomas, a seaman. Eleanor's address Matrimony Road! Portsea. Married James Riley 24 September 1815 at St Marys Portsea. Witnesses were Elizabeth Pulling http://genealogistsforum.co.uk/forum...ead.php?t=9925 and John Still (husband of half-sister Charlotte) Eleanor continued to live in Portsea, and can be found on all the censuses until she died 9 August 1881 at 120 Hertford Street. Buried 10 August 1881 aged 92 (nobody left to quibble about her age as she'd outlived her contemporaries) in Mile End Cemetery. There was a gravestone, but this was removed when the site was converted to a heliport!
