Default Ancestry New York Passenger Lists Query

Could someone have a look at this link:

http://search.ancestry.com.au/iexec/...00756243&ftm=1

The passenger is Ormiston Brown. There is an entry in the date and cause of death column ( 1-0 ). But he didn't die as he crosses the border from Canada to the US in 1908.

So what does the entry mean in that last column?

New York Passenger Lists 1820-1957

While someone is looking could they look at an entry for Adam Dawson - did he travel between 1891-1901, born about 1838 in Tipperary Ireland ? Was there an Elizabeth Dawson same age, with him ?

Thanks

Di

There is no Adam Dawson born about 1838. The closest is born 1840.

Both trips with inthe 1880's and he travelled alone.

Will have a look to see if there is anything else without an age.

I have a look at FMP UK OUtbound lists but they only have initials no Adams, nor DOB, just adult.

There is a website called Ellis Island, it's free. Maybe have a look there and see what you come up with.

now does anyone have any idea on my query?

Thanks Toni, sorry I butted in on your thread, I don't have access to the US records, so cannot help you.

Adam is in th 1891 census with my cousin Elizabeth Dawson, no relation and I wondered why they were not around in 1901.

Can you copy and paste the bit you are looking at, to your thread and I will see if I can make anything of it ?

Its probably too early for anyone else to be around yet

Di

I'm on a 14 day trial of the worldwide one and it won't allow me access via the Australian site either.

I can see a border crossing for Ormiston Brown for Oct 1908. If that's the one, there doesn't seem to be a column for date and cause of death. The final column gives date of "examination".

If you add up the numbers in the columns they equal the numbers at the bottom, so obviously counting something but not sure what??

Sorry didn't come back earlier, have been sidetracked elsewhere.

I have worldwide ancestry through the canada ancestry but can log into any ancestry - .com, .co.uk, .com.au. I tried french for something and had to put in my log on and password but it let me. I just can't read enough french to understand the results I was getting.

Peppie whatever it is they are doing doesn't relate to deaths though does it?
