Default Family History Books - FamilySearch

I haven't tried searching yet. I hope there isn't too much of a US bias.

LOL, the first one I came across was a book I found many years ago, which is unfortunately utter tripe backed up by nothing but a good imagination.

A good resource, thankyou Elizabeth - but as with any other reported records, all needs carefully checking - just because it's in a published book doesn't make it correct.

Yes, OC, I found a book yesterday about a particular family with lots of errors.

Still a good resource though, like most things people tell you or write down there needs some evidence or other backup documentation. I am always sceptical of most things and some of the stories and trees people are happy to share without some evidence its only anecdotal.

The Northamptonshire parish register books look fairly accurate from what I saw last night.

Thank you ElizabethHerts for the link/info.
