Her husband's name is just William Fraser on Scotland's People's index, Anne. You can view the image of their marriage cert on SP and it should give you lots of info about her.

thanks. I have just braved Scotlands people and found the entry. The marriage was 1st Nov 1910. Mary Ann was 22 and William was 36. She was a housekeeper and her father was Charles MacWilliam deceased, her mother looks like Jane MacWilliam nee Hardie deceased. Both give their address as Morayshire. Her father's occupation looks like ploughman.

Ancestry has them on the 1901 Scottish census at Elgin, Morayshire - Charles MacWilliam age 57 ploughman born Keith Banffshire, daughters Jane 26, Mary 13 and Ellen 3, son Lachlan 8, all born Elgin.

In 1891 they are at Roschaugh Farm Cottage, New Spynie, Moray: Charles 41 born Keith, Banffshire, wife Jane 37 born Drainie, Morayshire, daughter Jane 15 born Drainie, sons John 12 born Drainie, Charles 10, William 7, George 5 and daughter Mary Ann 2, all these born St Andrew, Morayshire. Of course ancestry only has transcriptions - you would have to check the images on SP to see if this is correct.

FamilySearch has the marriage between Charles McWilliam and Jane Hardie 30 May 1873 at Drainie, Moray (plus another daughter, Elizabeth, born 28 Feb 1873 at Drainie.) If you look at the marriage on Scotland's People it will give you Charles and Jane's parents' names.

thanks. I found the marriage in 1873 on Scotland's people. Jane's father was Lachlan Hardie a carter and Charles' father was John MacWilliam a crofter. It seems strange my husband has had to wait until he was seventy to find out a bit more about his grandmother.
