Default The burial of Henry Hook

Per the Archdeacons' transcripts, this is perfectly simple:

Henry was buried 12 September 1784 in Cley, aged 28:

But what does it say in the original register?

The comment appears to be contemporary. But I can't read it. Does it relate to Henry, or to the records themselves?

I handled the original register when I extracted the reference more than forty years ago, and I can't believe that I ignored it.

Help, please.

Can you post another link to the original PR as I can't find it via the link above and I can't find it by searching either!

It could be to do with the "new Duty" mentioned on the previous page? Stamp Collector??

Lol! Yes, that's the one, Merry.

Looking at it yet again, I think it's possibly unconnected, but I'm baffled as to why the comment should be made in September.

Sorry, Kite, I missed your post. Yes, it's the 3d per burial, and it's taken them five years before they start noting any paupers. It just so happened that Henry was the last to be buried in the first year. And I'm sure that when I was looking at the original register, I would have read it for what it was, and consequently ignored it.
