Looking at my non-con families, I think they sometimes travelled some distance to a non-conformist chapel, or even a particular preacher. Maybe, there was a family connection to the preacher, I have found this at times.

One of my non-conformist families used the preachers' surnames as second names for some of the children.

Also, I have one family where the officiating minister travelled from Suffolk to Brighton to perform the ceremony.
