Another Stanbridge to find (pretty please)
These damn Stanbridge's are doing my head in. OH's side of the family that's why.
Matilda Jane Stanbridge, 1871 census http://search.ancestry.co.uk/iexec/?...=&pid=14391990 1881 census http://search.ancestry.co.uk/Browse/...tanbridge&cr=1 By the time of the 1891 census her father is dead and her mother and sister Catherine Winifred are living with sister Mary Agnes in Burton on Trent. Can't find Matilda Jane anywhere. A contact from a long while ago told me that she was still alive in 1934 and living at 19 Oakland Avenue, Harbourne, Birmingham. I have found a likely death, 1959 Birmingham Mar qtr 9c 787 aged 88. Can anyone spot her in 1891, 1901 and 1911? Don't use any credits for 1911 as I have a sub, just need a few pointers as to where she is.

So, from the 1871 census, she was born in 1871 in Dunthrop, Oxfordshire, just so we know who we're looking for.

I see she returned to England from New York in 1916, so maybe we should be looking at the US censuses! Maybe findmypast can tell us when she went over there... but if she went before 1890 it might not.

Ah, it looks as though she only went over to the USA in 1916 as well.

Was that on FMP or Ancestry? Place of birth could be Heythrop, Dunthrop or Chipping Norton, definitely Oxfordshire.

I've found her on FMP going to New York. I assume she is travelling with the lady who has the same ticket number.
I can't make out the name of the lady. I don't have access to Ancestry passenger lists anymore

There's a Janet Stanbridge, servant, born Chipping Norton, in 1891 and 1901, and I can't find her in 1881.
She's living in Birmingham in 1891 (transcribed as Janett) and Bulwell, Notts in 1901 (transcribed as James). Matilda is a lady's maid in 1916, travelling back from NY with Florence E Hesketh, no occupation given, aged 54. They both give the address 9 Montague Square, London. I had seen "Janet" in 1891, I'll have a look at the 1901. Mary, do you have a date and the name of the ship they travelled back on?

I think that could possibly be her in 1891 and 1901 I wonder where she was in 1911?
