Deciphering some writing on a marriage cert
Could anyone decipher the names on this cert?
I think I know what they say but the writing on the first two are pretty bad and I am concerned that its not the people I think it is. if you click on it the image shows it in its own window a lot bigger. Thank you. Marriage cropped.jpg |

Thank you ElizabethHerts.
Its the maiden surname of Elizabeth that is now crucial. I was hoping you'd say somthing else I know what I want it to be. |

Maggie, I could well be wrong - upon further perusal, it could begin with "St"!

I think Mary Ann McLaughlan's ms is Nicolson.
I'm still working on Elizabeth's - I'm not sure that first letter is an L, comparing it with the L of McLaughlan. |

I'm not sure that the "L" in the middle is an L! I think it might be the downward stroke of the Y above.... but I'm still not sure what it says! Sisnant???

Thanks everybody I was wanting the name Stewart.
I think its my G G Grandfather James Russel Stewart Young's second marriage cert in 1873 or even third I think there might be another one between 1865 -1873 I posted him on TO2GG yesterday and it made me go back and check for more marriages. |
