I have a feeling this service has stopped. It was called Traceline, I think? You could google Traceline and see what comes up . OC |

Not sure if this sort of thing would be available via the Freedom of Information Act, I have a friend in Australia who oddly asked me just a few weeks ago if her brother could be found via his birth date and name only via national insurance office. xxhugxx

I think it would be exempt from the Freedom of Information Act.

Unfortunately Traceline disappeared when its department changed name and it became part of another government entity.
You can search ancestry historical records (deaths to 2005) putting in a name and year and place of birth - if there's a hit it should give the exact date of birth. Alternatively if he's still alive there's 192.com or tracesmart but both cost money Last edited by JBee; 22-01-10 at 21:17. |

Traceline was very quietly disbanded, as a money saving exercise, as JBee says and by the time reports of its death reached the press, it had already gone.
